This plastic table is specifically designed for household party concepts. Our goal was to create a visually appealing, modern form with concealed functionality. It serves as a decorative piece while also functioning as a garbage bin. Users can conveniently dispose of their waste by tossing it into the hole in the middle of the table surface, which leads to a bin inside the body of the table. The waste bin is designed with a wide base for stability. To access the bin, simply lift the table to the side.
We participated in a competition called “House Party” organized by Designboom. Our design was selected and exhibited at the Tokyo Design Week, a prestigious event in Tokyo that showcases the best in design innovation (%100 Tokyo Design).
Usable as a sofa and multi-functional furniture, the Twist is designed to enhance our lifestyle and offer suitable assistive units as an alternative to traditional teenage furniture and seating units. This innovative study unit incorporates various functional elements and allows for multiple configurations. Its main purpose is to provide teenagers with alternative seating positions while studying or using a computer for entertainment purposes. The prototype is manufactured using 25mm metal pipes, beech wood, glue wood, upholstery sponge, and fabric. The manufacturing process involves laminating wood, bending metal pipes, and welding to create the final product.
R_CUN R-cun is a foldable deckchair that offers convenience in terms of portability and storage. Its unique design not only provides a comfortable seating option but also creates a sheltered space underneath to store your belongings. The ergonomic design of R-cun takes into consideration human comfort and usability. Setting it up is a breeze, and its construction features aluminum units held together by an interior wire and durable fabric. To maintain R-cun’s shape while in use, users simply need to pull the wire inside and secure its form. I build the prototype using wood. I realized its dimensions should be reconsidered.
This design concept features an office desk with a retractable screen on top, allowing you to keep your belongings in place and maintain a neat appearance. When left open, it functions as a panel; a cover made of a mesh attached to an iron frame, ensuring the organized appearance of the working mechanism and workspace. The contents inside are inflated due to the flexibility of the mesh. Since the mesh is semi-transparent, the contents are partially visible.
The design is created with an effort to recreate the seating positions of traditional seders using natural materials such as felt and wood. It aims to support shared activities and interactions by accommodating different sitting postures for users sitting side by side. The back supports can be adjusted to accommodate various seating positions. Additionally, there is a surface nearby where small items (such as cups, etc.) can be conveniently placed.
